Help Aggie the Alien - NHS Hillingdon CCG Short Story Competition for 5-10 year olds

Aggie the Alien has come to visit Hillingdon with her family from a far far away planet.  Unfortunately Aggie has no knowledge about who the  NHS are or what they do.

This is where we need your help!

We are looking for your short stories to create a book that Aggie could keep and use during her stay here.  This book will teach Aggie based on your stories how to look after herself and how to use some of our local NHS services here in Hillingdon.

The competition

This is open to all children that live in the London Borough of Hillingdon and are aged between 5 and 10 years old.

Your short story must be about one of the following:-

  • Looking after yourself (with help from mummy, daddy, teacher at school or another adult)
  • Visiting your local Pharmacy
  • Calling NHS 111
  • Getting medicine
  • Making an appointment with a Doctor or nurse at your GP Practice

This can be a story about you and your experience, or you can create your own characters (which can be fictional) to tell you own story about one of the above.

To include:

  • No more than 500 words
  • A picture drawn by you to accompany the story
  • Why you or your character used/went to one of the above
  • What happened while using one of the above
  • How you/your character felt afterwards.  Did you/your character feel better?

(You may have used more than one in one day e.g. you went to the GP surgery, you were told you could get medicine from the pharmacy, you went to pharmacy etc).
